Who is behind Ixcela?

Ixcela co-founders Erika Angle and Wayne Matson have created a science-based gut health company with a focus on personalized, actionable results.

Ixcela co-founder and CEO Erika Angle received her Ph.D. in biochemistry from Boston University School of Medicine and a B.S. from MIT.; co-founder Wayne Matson, a "father of metabolomics" holds a Ph.D. from MIT, is a successful entrepreneur with hundreds of publications and patents whose company was acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific. Wayne is the Chief Scientist of Ixcela.

With a foundation based on more than 50 years of research from tens of thousands of samples with dozens of research institutions and companies such as Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), The Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Mayo Clinic, Duke University, Pfizer, and NASA (to name a few), our novel test was developed as a result of these partnerships.

As we are a company deeply rooted in science, we are continually building our scientific reputation—currently working with Duke University, the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, and the ALS Therapy Development Institute.
